Everything You Need to Know About IISMA 2021 (Indonesia International Student Mobility Awards)

In order to implement the Independent Learning program for Independent Campuses (MBKM), the Directorate General of Higher Education (Ditjen Dikti) of the Ministry of Education and Culture designed the Indonesia International Student Mobility Awards program. This program allows undergraduate students of 4th to 7th semester at universities within the Directorate General of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education and Culture who are eligible to study for one semester (approximately 16 weeks) at overseas partner universities. Also, students may have the opportunity to interact with international students, teachers and local communities at overseas universities as well as participating in various cultural activities at their respective universities. The program itself aims to facilitate Indonesian students to gain knowledge and skills, exchange ideas and culture, and build networks with college friends, academics, and the international community at universities abroad.

The Objectives of the Program are to:

  1. Improve students’ knowledge, soft skills, and cross-cultural understanding;
  2. Open opportunities for students to get to know and learn the latest science and technology and the direction of future development of science and technology;
  3. Develop friendships and networks of participating students with students, teachers, and the general public in the countries where students carry out the program;
  4. Prepare qualified university graduates that are open-minded, experienced and have global knowledge and are ready to face the challenges of the industrial revolution 4.0 and society 5.0;
  5. Strengthen good relationship between the Indonesian government and the governments of partner universities.

Program Period: 1 Semester (Started in September-December 2021)

Benefits:

Online & Onsite

– Tuition Fee

Paid (at cost) directly through partner universities.

Onsite Only

– Allowance; including living cost, insurance, dan some miscellaneous expenses.

– Ticket and Visa (economy class airfare to and from the host university)

Requirements:

  1. An Indonesian citizen and is based in Indonesia;
  2. An active undergraduate student
  3. Currently in the 4th to 7th semester of the study
  4. Nominated by the home university;
  5. Have never received another foreign exchange student scholarship;
  6. Have a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 3.00 / 4.00;
  7. Have an English proficiency certificate: TOEFL 550/ IELTS 6.0 or as required by the host university which is still valid on 17 May 2021;
  8. Accepted at overseas partner universities (1-300 QS World University Ranking) to carry out mobility programs in the odd semester of the academic year 2021-2022 (proven by LoA)
  9. Willing to follow the applicable rules and regulations set by UB and the Ministry of Education and Culture while participating in this program.

Criteria of Overseas Host University

  1. Priority to foreign universities that are below Top 300 QS University Ranking and have an MoU with Unimed abroad Destination.
  2. MoU Overseas Universities that are included below the Top 300 QS University Rankings and are in collaboration with Dikti.

Registration

  • All eligible students must register via the following link: https://kampusmerdeka.kemdikbud.go.id/web/IISMA
  • The registration will be carried out through the online portal of the Ministry of Education and Culture.
  • Proof of Indonesian citizenship (photocopy of ID card/passport/birth certificate).
  • Letter of recommendation from home university.
  • Recent academic transcript from home university.
