As a support action to reduce plastic and mineral water waste, UPN “Veteran” Jawa Timur launches Technowater, a ready-to-drink water storehouse for all members of UPN “Veteran” Jawa Timur, including lecturers, non-academic staff, and students. This launch event is held after an assembly and morning exercise, led by Rector UPN “Veteran” Jawa Timur on June, 12th.
The launch of Technowater Storehouse begins with the management handover session between the Head of Institute of Research and Community Service (LPPM), Dr. Ir. Yenny Wuryandari, MP and Head of General Affairs, Sujianto, S.Sos., MM. This includes the handover session of the activated silica filter unit, activated carbon filter unit, ion exchange unit, membrane filter unit, ozone generating unit, TDS meter control and indicator pale, rotameter, three units of the stainless jet pump, and four stainless tanks.
“Technowater is a featured product of research results from LPPM of UPN “Veteran” Jawa Timur and also has passed biological and chemical tests and has proven with Indonesian National Standard (SNI) for bottled water, ” said Yenny.
Technowater Storehouse is located on the western side of the Faculty of Engineering and on the southside of Istiqomah Mosque.
In the assembly’s welcome greeting, Rector of UPN “Veteran” Jawa Timur acclaimed that Technowater now can be widely used after its first establishment a while ago, “This is the third generation of Technowater with the capacity of 1000 L/hour. We assure this will be sufficient to fulfill water intakes of the UPN Jatim academic community.”
Moreover, the Rector also explains about Technowater has been used by the community in Pondok Pesantren Wachid Hasyim, Jepara with a new brand of Baroka, PT. Kresmana Banyuwangi and now working with several state universities, from UPN “Veteran” Jakarta, University of Mataram, Lombok; and Ganesha Education University, Bali.
By Technowater, he wished that the entire academic community, including lecturers, educators and students, would expect to concern and pay more attention to the environment and to reduce plastic waste of bottled water.
