On Saturday, 10 August 2024, KISE UPNVJT held a colorful and enthusiastic event with the theme of independence to celebrate the arrival of new volunteers and farewell volunteers who had completed their duties. Themed around independence, the day was a lively celebration filled with color, creativity, and the spirit of togetherness.
All participants arrived in stunning Indonesian hero costumes to start the day with the spirit of independence. Not only do they add joy, but these costumes also remind us of the fighting spirit and courage of the nation’s heroes. Each participant showed their creativity, adding color and uniqueness to the event.
The event started with a warm introduction from KISE, followed by various entertainment activities. Participants had the opportunity to participate in colorful hero-themed cosplay and various typical independence games, such as spicy-cracker-eating competitions and marble and rubber relays. Laughter echoed throughout the event as these games entertained and helped strengthen the connections between the participants.
New volunteers are divided into small groups to compete in various exciting challenges. They get to know each other more deeply through games and outdoor activities while enjoying an atmosphere full of togetherness and fun. This event was more than just a day of fun; it was a carefully crafted experience that introduced the new volunteers to the rich culture and core values of KISE while promoting teamwork and collaboration.
One of the day’s highlights was the graduation session, where several volunteers who had graduated from campus and completed their term of office at KISE received awards. Xandra, one of the graduates, shared her experience: “Joining KISE was one of my best experiences. I learned a lot, especially in interacting with international students. This has been a journey full of lessons and beautiful memories.”
The event concluded on a high note, with participants leaving with smiles and hearts full of fond memories. This celebration was a warm welcome for the new volunteers and a heartfelt recognition of the contributions and achievements of those who had completed their service. It was a day that captured the essence of independence, community, and the enduring bonds formed within KISE.
