This marks a significant milestone for UPNVJT, showcasing the university’s growing reputation and global appeal.

Indrawan Jatmika announced that in 2025, UPNVJT received over 2,500 applications from international students worldwide. After a rigorous selection process conducted by the International Office, 31 students were chosen from diverse countries, including South Africa, Pakistan, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Yemen.

Moreover, UPNVJT plans to launch a Computer-Based Test (CBT) independent admission pathway specifically for international students in 2026. Indrawan explained that this initiative was introduced in response to the challenges many prospective students encountered in navigating scholarship application procedures, leading them to favor the independent admission pathway. He added that preparations are nearly complete, including the development of a registration platform, and the program is scheduled to be launched next year.

In a similar vein, Indrawan emphasized the importance of mastering the Indonesian language for international students at UPNVJT. He stated that proficiency in the language is essential for students to engage effectively in academic activities, research, and the graduation examination. He also noted that passing the Indonesian language assessment is one of the requirements for graduation.

“After you graduate from UPN, you must be able to speak in Bahasa Indonesia,” Indriawan said firmly.

In this regard, Rector of UPNVJT, Akhmad Fauzi, expressed his hope that the presence of international students would enrich the university’s global academic atmosphere. He felt that the diverse backgrounds of these students would enable each faculty member to create international connections and foster collaborative research across borders.

The event also marked the inauguration of the new International Office, located on the first floor of the Wimaya Twin B Building. Fauzi noted that the new office was intended to be more representative to enhance support services for both international students and UPNVJT students involved in international programs.
