Volleyball

Indonesia has PBVSI (Persatuan Bola Voli Seluruh Indonesia), an organization which accumulates volleyball teams around the country. Therefore, UPN ‘‘Veteran’’ Jawa Timur must be involved in developing students who have talent and passion in volleyball and have an excellent future through sports, other than training its students to have healthy souls, creativity, and professionalism.

Basketball

Basketball is a game played between two teams of five players each on a rectangular court, usually indoors. Each team tries to score by tossing the ball through the opponent’s goal, an elevated horizontal hoop and net called a basket.

Football

Football or soccer, is a game involving two teams of 11 players who try to maneuver the ball into the other team’s goal without using their hands or arms. The team that scores more goals wins. Football is the world’s most popular ball game in numbers of participants and spectators.

Badminton

One of the most popular sports in Indonesia. Badminton has been proven to make Indonesia proud in regional, national, and international competitions. Therefore, in 2011 UKM Badminton UPN ‘‘Veteran’’ Jawa Timur was established to provide a place where students are able to practice their skills in badminton and gain achievements.

Mahapala

A perfect community for exploring nature. There are four focus divisions; mountain forest, caving, climbing, and rafting. In caving, students will be asked to examine caves and make blue prints out of it. In order to complete the mission, students will do some exercise to make sure they are physically and mentally fit. All knowledge about cave explorations, the technique, rigging, cave’s ornaments, ect will be studied beforehand.

Tari Adi Krida Giri

This student organization is a place where students with interest and skill in art, especially traditional dance, gather to practice and rehearse for any upcoming art exhibition. Established in September 2008, Adi Krida Giri means “good actions will create good success, intelligence, and luck.” 

Karawitan

A traditional form of music. The beauty of its gamelan instruments, how it plays, and how to savor it are the reasons why karawitan always successfully captivates its audience. Karawitan usually plays along with ludruk, traditional dance, and others. Students will learn how to play Javanese gamelan instruments; the name of each gamelan, how to play each instrument, the technique, and how to make notation.
